Dyrehaven (Jægersborg Deer Park)
A former royal hunting forest at Klampenborg, 20 minutes by train from the centre, with a free-roaming herd of more than 2,000 deer. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage site "The par force hunting landscape in North Zealand", and the 1730s Eremitage hunting lodge stands on the open grassland where the old hunting roads meet.
Frederiksberg Gardens (Frederiksberg Have)
A romantic landscape garden laid out around Frederiksberg Palace and open to the public since 1749, with canals, small islands and the Chinese Pavilion of 1799. By the Apis Temple at the edge of the park you can look straight in at Copenhagen Zoo's elephants for free.
Islands Brygge Harbour Bath
Five pools, two of them for children, plus diving towers and a lawn, built straight into Copenhagen Harbour opposite the city centre. It is free and open all year from 06:00 to 22:00, but lifeguards are only on duty from 1 June to 31 August and swimming closes if the daily water test fails.

Amager Strandpark (Amager Beach Park)
Copenhagen's largest beach — a 4.6 km artificial beach island separated from the mainland by a shallow lagoon, about 5 km from the city centre and served by its own metro station. There are five beach stations with toilets and kiosks, and lifeguards are on duty in the summer season.
